DevLearn Recap - October 2022

Another Halloween season is upon us, and while that always means fun with tricks and treats, costumes, and the whole thing, perhaps one of the other great things about it is the Learning Guild’s annual DevLearn Conference & Expo. Now one of the largest learning tech-focused conferences in North America, DevLearn took place from October 26-28th in  Las Vegas at the Mirage Hotel and Conference Center.

In recent years (COVID notwithstanding), the event has ballooned to over 3000 attendees and draws people from around the globe. Instructional designers, training managers, content creators, and so many others from the human resources and talent development departments come to get the latest information from vendors and consultants and share their triumphs and travails.

This year was no different. The SparkLearn team showed up, set up the booth, and got to work. I presented a concurrent session, participated in a panel discussion, and hosted a book signing meet and greet. I have enjoyed going to DevLearn since the first time I made the trek in 2008 and this was no exception.

The session I presented “Creating a Plan for your Next Generation Learning Ecosystem” was a standing room only affair, with about 200 people in attendance. Many have asked for the presentation deck to share with their coworkers and colleagues. I have posted the presentation here, so be sure to check it out.

A couple other highlights for the event. Seeing friends, partners, and customers at these events is always a delight. We got a chance to hang out with the Learning Ninjas, see OnPoint Digital, talk to Rustici, Watershed and, of course, the folks from RISC who won a DemoFest xAPI award for their new exciting xACTION product. Some other folks from partner companies like Quantum Improvements Consulting, Upside Learning, Veracity LRS, and OpenSesame all stopped by our expo booth to spend some time with us. Thanks for doing that. We appreciate getting a chance to see so many smart people and talk shop.

We launched the new Essential and Premium subscription plans for SparkLearn at the event, and the excitement was universal. SparkLearn has always been easy to use but now, it’s a snap to buy and get started with. We had such a great response to the offering that we literally ran out of promo cards to hand out. So, if you still want the deal and start using SparkLearn, saving 25% off your first-year subscription, just use the promo code Spark25 at checkout. This code expires soon, so act quickly.

We cannot wait to talk more to all the new faces that stopped by to meet us and look forward to the next great event hosted by the Learning Guild.
